Dear visitors, Thank you for your interest. These pages are largely a translation of a book originally published in the Czech language. I appreciate your time and hope you find the content valuable...

Modern Western society rests on the foundations of Christian philosophy and values. Principles such as the rule of law, the inherent worth of the individual, love, mercy, forgiveness, the intellectual basis for scientific inquiry, and even our calendar—referencing the birth of Jesus Christ—all reflect a legacy that continues to benefit everyone in the Western world. Yet in recent decades, much of the so-called developed world has increasingly distanced itself from these roots and, in many cases, deliberately rejected them. With the growing influence of rationalism, many now view these foundations as outdated or obsolete—seeing faith in them as a mark of intellectual inferiority.

This perception is reinforced by a host of serious questions and criticisms. These often arise from seemingly insurmountable issues (such as evil, suffering, death, or religious diversity) or from the actions of those who have claimed the Christian name (such as the Crusades, the sale of indulgences, hypocrisy, or the pursuit of wealth). Such issues provide fertile ground for mounting pressure against the foundations of Christian faith and ongoing attempts to show that Christian principles are irrelevant to life in the 21st century. While "Christian identity" has gained new visibility in the wake of recent migration crises, being a Christian is still widely seen as unfashionable—and, to many, irrational.

This book offers a thoughtful response to these pressures. It presents a structured exploration of the most common objections to the existence of the Christian God and to Christian teachings, offering reasoned and, where appropriate, scientific counterarguments. It also challenges widespread misconceptions and prejudices about Christianity that are commonly accepted by the general public. Broadly speaking, this book serves as an educational resource that reveals the unfiltered essence and core of Christianity. It is intended not only for Christians who wish to explore challenging aspects of their faith more deeply, but also for non-Christians seeking a value system that transcends materialism and addresses life's fundamental questions. Additionally, it speaks to those with firmly non-Christian worldviews who are nevertheless open to understanding the cultural and philosophical contributions of Christianity to Western civilization.

The author, Petr Fiedor, is an ordinary Christian from the Czech Republic—a layperson with a strong interest in apologetics. He presents a general Christian perspective, informed by the tradition of Christian apologetics. On more theologically sensitive matters, he takes a Protestant approach to the Bible and church practice.

Interesting Fact About the Czech Republic - my country

The Czech Republic, located in the very heart of Europe, is historically known as a cradle of the Reformation and as the birthplace of the Unity of the Brethren, also called the Moravian Brothers. They were pioneers of some of the earliest Protestant missionary work in the world. From the Czech lands, this movement spread across the globe, bringing a strong emphasis on personal faith, free communities of believers, education, and service to others. Thanks to the legacy of the Moravian Brothers, the Czech Republic made its mark on Christian history as the place that inspired the spread of the gospel to the Caribbean, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. This legacy also played a significant role in shaping modern Protestant missions.

Supporting the Spread of the Book

If you like this book (its questions and answers) and believe it should reach more readers, I would like to kindly ask for your help in spreading it.

Ways you can help:

  1. Prayer Support – No arguments can be truly effective unless they are thoughtfully considered and accepted by people. Especially in spiritual matters, it is essential that God works in the hearts of readers and opens their inner eyes to see His truth. Prayers are, therefore, a very important part of the spiritual battle for all readers (not only) of this book.

  2. Sharing and Various Forms of Distribution – If you can, gently share links to the book/website, or to individual questions, on Facebook, in discussions, via email, and other channels.
